Our Structure
One firm. Five areas of expertise.
Most financial firms do one thing. A tax firm does taxes. A wealth management firm manages investments. An insurance agency sells policies. You work with each one separately, and none of them talk to each other.
Oakwood Capital is built differently.
We operate five coordinated entities under one holding company — Oakwood Capital Partners. Each one exists because different financial services are governed by different regulators, different licensing requirements, and different rules. That's not a complication. It's how we're able to do everything, properly and legally, under one roof.
You don't need to understand the distinctions to work with us. What you do need to know is this: when you work with Oakwood Capital, you have one relationship — and access to everything we offer.
Every Door Opens to Every Other.
Clients come to Oakwood Capital through different doors. Some start with a tax return. Some start with a wealth management conversation. Some come through an insurance need or a broker-dealer relationship. It doesn't matter where you start.
What matters is what's possible once you're here.
-
The parent company — and the brand that connects everything.
Oakwood Capital Partners is the holding company for all five entities. It's where everyone at Oakwood works, and it's the unified brand behind every service we provide. When you see the Oakwood Capital name, OCP is the common thread.
-
Accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and fractional CFO services.
OCATA is our primary entry point for business clients. If you need tax preparation, tax strategy, bookkeeping, payroll, or a fractional CFO, someone to serve as your outsourced finance department, this is where that work happens.
But OCATA isn't just about getting things done. It's about giving you better financial information so you can make better decisions. We see your cash flow, your entity structure, and your tax picture every year. That visibility is something most advisors never have — and we use it to your advantage.
-
Wealth management and personal financial planning.
OCA is our wealth management and financial planning entity. If you're building toward retirement, managing investments, planning your estate, or thinking through the financial future of your business and your family, OCA is where that relationship lives.
Our advisors work with individuals, families, and business owners. They don't just manage portfolios, they help clients think through the full picture: income, spending, protection, and legacy.
-
Investment management infrastructure and RIA platform.
OC is a registered investment advisory firm. It is the back-office investment management infrastructure that supports OCA advisors and a network of other advisory firms. If you're a financial advisor looking for an investment management platform and operational support, OC is built for that.
Most individual clients interact with OC through their relationship with OCA. For other advisory firms looking for a platform partner, OC provides the infrastructure to serve their clients well.
-
Broker-dealer services, variable insurance, and compliance infrastructure.
OCS is our registered broker-dealer. The entity that makes it possible to offer variable insurance products and supervise advisors who work in those areas. Variable insurance products (those with underlying investments, like certain life insurance policies and annuities) require broker-dealer oversight. OCS provides that, along with compliance supervision for the advisors on our platform.
For brokerage general agencies (BGAs) and independent advisors looking for a broker-dealer that actually understands the insurance world — and isn't competing against you — OCS is a rare fit.
-
Fixed insurance — life, health, Medicare, disability, and more.
OCIS handles everything on the fixed insurance side: life insurance, health insurance, Medicare supplement plans, disability insurance, business insurance, and more. Fixed insurance products don't carry underlying investments, which is why they live in a separate entity from OCS.
If something in your life has insurable value — your income, your health, your business, your family — OCIS can help protect it.
“Communication was top-notch and the final outcome was even better than we imagined. A great experience all around.”
